[symple_clear_floats] Our West End Festival programme continued at on Saturday, June 15, when an audience of around 60 heard the Telemann Ensemble present:
- Bach Wedding cantata ‘Weichet nur’ with soprano Margaret Ravalde;
- Vivaldi concerto in B Minor for four violins;
- Boismortier sonata in E Minor for three flutes and continuo;
- Handel Concerto Grosso Op 3 Nr 4b.
Some £350 was raised for Hospices of Hope, the leading palliative care charity in South Eastern Europe).
The Telemann Ensemble was founded by Leslie Macleod and Neil Gillies in 1977 to perform works by Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) and other neglected baroque composers as well as masters such as Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.
