Prayer is being put at the heart of the church’s relaunched Mission Action process.
Rev Sydney Maitland said: “A church prayer meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday 24 October and it is hoped that as many members of the congregation as possible will be able to take part.
“I am suggesting that any who do wish to take part will come with a prayer to offer – the shorter and the simpler the better, eg ‘Lord, please bless X’.
“In order to help us in this, I also suggest that we come along with a favoured verse from the Bible, or from a hymn. A collect from the Prayer Book would be fine – or any other Christian source.
“The point about this is to come together before God and to grow in confidence as we do so.
“I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening.”

O Lord our God,
Who has given Your Son Jesus Christ to save us and the Holy Spirit to sanctify us:
We pray that You will increase and strengthen the life and witness of Your people at All Saints, Jordanhill,
That, increasing in numbers and being strengthened in faith, we may be fruitful in all the works of the Holy Spirit, and show forth the love of Your Son Jesus Christ in this, our own generation.
This we pray in the name of and for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen
