Brenda and Ken celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2018
It is with deep regret that we announce that Kenneth McCreadie died peacefully on Tuesday morning, surrounded by his family and having received the final rites of the church.
He had been diagnosed with cancer early in 2019 and had been receiving treatment for it in the intervening period, however treatment for cancer can be very demanding.
Kenneth was a member of All Saints for many years and had served as Rector’s/Priest’s Warden for over 40 years, maintaining the fabric of the church.
He was involved when the negotiations took place for the old rectory to be demolished and replaced by the new one. His last major project was the replacement of the lighting in church.
Rev Sydney Maitland paid tribute to Ken’s contribution to the life of All Saints: “His dedication was matched by his sense of humour which was to the point and whacky but always engaging.
“He will be sadly missed by the congregation of All Saints. Our love and prayers are for Brenda, Fiona, Douglas, Catherine and the grandchildren.”
The funeral will take place at 9 am on Friday 13 November. Attendance, restricted to 20 places by Covid-19 regulations, is already allocated.
May Kenneth rest in peace and rise in glory.
