The Storehouse foodbank – run by the Glasgow Vineyard church in Anniesland and supported by All Saints since 2013 – is facing considerable challenges from measures introduced to combat Covid-19. Seeking financial aid, the organisers explain:
We are working hard to ensure that we are able to provide food and essential toiletries to those in greatest need in ways which protect our clients and volunteers.
To meet these challenges we are having to adapt the ways in which we do things and also find ways of overcoming new technical and logistical issues, all of which makes demands on our time and our resources.
Issues we are currently facing are:
- Reduction in food donation from the local community due to dramatically decreased footfall at our local supermarket
- Need to exclude clients from our building and to create safe working spaces within the building for our team
- Provision of protective gear and cleaning gear such as gloves, face masks and hand sanitizer in the face of national shortages and inflated prices
If you would like to help us continue this work, please consider contributing financially.
The best way to do this is by online bank transfer using the following details: Storehouse Food Bank: account number: 00265513, sort code: 80-05-54
Thank you.
