Two members of All Saints’ congregation have passed away in recent days.
Mrs Frances Anderson died on June 13. Rev Sydney Maitland said: “I am sad to inform you that Frances Anderson died yesterday at the St Margaret’s Hospice.
“Her condition had deteriorated over the last two weeks however she was lovingly attended to by the sisters of the hospice and was given every spiritual comfort that that the sisters could offer. As I celebrate the communion today, I will be doing so thinking of her as part of the whole company of heaven with whom we worship. We will all be saddened by her loss, however our loss is a gain for the Kingdom of God.
“In your prayers, please remember her family and all who had known and worked with her as a librarian.
Miss Margaret MacLeod died peacefully in the Langlands unit of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on June 14, just a month short of her 101th birthday.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross, Knightswood, where her father had been Warden, until its closure in 2013, when she joined All Saints.
In July 2019 Margaret received her 100th birthday card from Queen Elizabeth:
What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than Celebrating the 100th Birthday of one of the members of our Congregation. Congratulations Margaret. You’re a star. 🌟
