All 77 brasses on the pews at All Saints have now been cleaned and polished, and Rev Sydney Maitland has placed cards with Biblical texts in most of them.
‘JB’ writes: “If you have blackened brass to clean, I can recommend the product called Bar Keeper’s Friend, used to polish brassware in American bars since 1882. Useful for cleaning many difficult surfaces, it was even used some years ago to clean the large Albert Memorial opposite the Albert Hall in London.”
