Bishop Gregor Duncan is to retire on October 11 – his 68th birthday – after more than eight years in office.
He offered his valedictory words to the Diocesan Synod in Kilmarnock on May 12:
“As St Paul might have put it, be more and more what you already are – called and loved into being by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and sustained in that love and call by God the Holy Spirit.”
Bishop Gregor grew up in Knightswood, attended Glasgow, Oxford and Cambridge universities, and was ordained priest in 1984. He was Rector of St Columba’s in Largs and St Ninian’s, Pollokshields, and served as Dean of the Diocese for fourteen years before his consecration as Bishop in 2010.
