Surgery at St Peter’s Hospital on Likoma Island in Malawi will now be quicker and safer thanks to All Saints, who have funded the purchase of a diathermy machine. The machine cauterizes blood vessels to prevent excessive bleeding – an essential piece of kit in an operating theatre.
Kathryn Garnett of the African Steps charity wrote to All Saints’ Brenda McCreadie: “Thank you so much for the cheque for £120 to fund the diathermy machine. You have done an amazing job of raising over £2000. We also have received a donation of £500 from Emmanuel Church Loughborough, which means that the diathermy machine has been fully funded.”
